Accuracy is a product feature. These are the rules behind every live condition, listing, event, correction, and partner placement.
Freshness is visible
Dataset refresh dates are public. Time-sensitive details are reviewed more often, and stale information can be removed from discovery until it is confirmed again.
Missing stays missing
If an official feed is unavailable, the interface says so. We do not substitute an older weather reading, infer a beach flag, or carry a closed alert forward.
Money stays labeled
Sponsored modules are labeled beside the business name and use sponsored links. A sponsor may lead only within directly relevant commercial intent; it never changes the organic order for restaurants, lodging, attractions, events, or unrelated categories.
Broad data stays open
The coastwide directory is an attributed Overture Maps snapshot using CDLA-Permissive and CC0 source records. It provides coverage, not endorsement. Curated field notes remain a separate editorial layer.
Corrections leave a trail
Businesses and readers can submit corrections with supporting sources. Changes are reviewed and recorded rather than silently overwritten.
Events point upstream
Signature dates link to official destination calendars or organizers. Cancellations, venue changes, tickets, and final times always belong to those live sources.
Safety remains official
Weather and tide data help with planning. Lifeguard flags, closures, evacuation instructions, and emergency orders always come from the responsible authority.
